Breaking news, site updates...
I'm setting up a media PC (for gaming only) and my computer uses a X1950XTX along with a Core 2 duo @3000MHz... My display is a New Plasma Panasonic (HD display) at 1024x768 42" I just wanna play some games that my Playstation 3 cannot handle very well (Fallout 3, Crysis, etc...) My question is, at this low display resolution (HD Plasma)... is it worth to upgrade my VGA Card?
Why are you only playing games at 1024x768???
Yes you will get higher framerates and therefore smoother gameplay.
I thought once my Pana is HD only (and therefore suports only 1024x768) the games would have to be set at this resolution mostly... am I wrong? If I try and put any higher resolution, the TV screen goes black and no gaming then =P
If it is 720p then your max resolution is 1280x720. If it is 1080p it is 1920x1080.
Some TV's also work with the 1366x768 resolution, give that a try.
^^^ this
I would tryout playing with the X1950XT first, then decide if you want a performance boost.
