Hey everyone any help will be very appreciated!

Here's what I have right now, and I think i'm ready to order, only problem is I'm not entirely sure if the CPU is compatible with the Motherboard.
I'm not an expert and this is my second custom build, for some reason I think the Mobo only accepts 64 bit?
I hear its a great mobo for HD output.

Also I'm trying to keep this a budget HTPC so if you recommend any other parts please keep that in mind [:

Oh and I'm usually an Intel guy but I've heard these are good for an HTPC.

And here are the Newegg links to all that

I'll be hooking this up to a Sony Bravia 47 inch with 1080. And the tuner card just directly to an outside antenna.
Most of my Hd content will be coming from online.

Thanks alot! Hope to get this ordered soon.

Thanks alot for the reply!

Would you recommend any substitutes for anything?

I'm thinking the Processor might be a little weak.

Edit* I've decided to change out the Processor to: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5050e Brisbane 2.6GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core

If theres anything better please let me know!

Will you be doing any video editing with the system? The CPU will work fine for a strictly HTPC, but would be a little underpowered for video editing.

I personally don't currently trust Seagate drives. I would swap it out for a WD.

Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive - OEM

Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive - OEM

What OS will you be using? I would either pick up 64-bit Vista or download the 64-bit Windows 7 RC when it's released on May 5th.

Both hard drives mentioned above have combos with 64-bit Vista:

Don't forget to check the combos for all the hardware. I found this CPU/motherboard combo that I would get instead of the Asus board above:

Hmm ok how about $410.91 after ship+MIR:

a better IGP mobo in 790GX, better HDD/OC/RAID (SB750) capability and faster chip in case u want to convert into SFF/LANBOX Gamer :P Little to negligible increase in costs too ^^

Nope, no video editing, maybe re encoding. As I won't have my videos stored on a networked machine.
So anything downloaded or ripped will be done with this machine.

I'll be dual booting vista and Windows 7 until I decided which one I like most. And in the meantime I have a 64-bit Vista Ultimate laying around somewhere.

Wow, nice improvement for such a small amount of cash. Thanks alot!
Are all of these components fairly quiet?

And I spent most of the day looking for a case, and I think I might of just 'settled' on the one I picked, would you happen to have any suggestions for a better looking case? maybe smaller? for about the same price. Or do you think this one is a pretty good deal.

Reply to mightymegit

Thats an awesome deal for the price with free shipping IMO Smaller you'd be looking at cube/shoe box casings like Q-Packs and Silverstone SG-02Fs

I think i'll still go for the tower case.

And unfortunately Newegg has removed the instant discounts on the Tuner and Power Supply :/
Also the 10$ MIR on the combo.

Must be because it just switched over into may.
