Hi there,

I have an iomax sata/ide adapter being used to plug an IDE drive into a SATA port on my new m/board.

The drive tests perfectly using Hitachi Drive Fitness Test (with the iomax adapter attached) and is always detected by the BIOS.

Windows 7 doesn't consistently detect the drive though, crashing install generally at "copying files", "expanding files", or when I delete the partion to start from scratch. There is no RAID, a single stick of RAM, and no add-in cards. This is a vanilla install. Already tested 3 different media (CD & USB) and disabled almost everything in the BIOS.

Any ideas?
