Morning all, Im new to this computer building stuff, so please be gentle. I have a ktx133 mainboard with an AMD duron processor. Iknow its old, finances tight. anywho can i also run a Pentium lll type processor in it ??

No. p3 wouldn't be much faster. Check anandtech's for sale forum. A guy named allies has a 690 board with am2 4000 and 2 gigs of ddr2 for only $75 shipped. It's a pretty good deal.

You can probably find a faster computer on the side of the road next to someones garbage can. No really, I threw out several pentium 4's earlier this year.
Ask around, friends, parents, most people upgrade their computer and put the old one in the attic.

No, a Pentium III CPU will NOT work at all on a AMD based Duron or Athlon motherboard.

zipzoomflyhigh is right.I was given 8 Pentium 4 systems that were cleared out of an office for free.I sold most of them for profit but I kept a Athlon 64 3400+ socket 939 system because it was a nice older system and performed well.
