I have a working system with 8800gtx installed with a 1000W Zalman PSU. I wanted to add an additional graphics card so I can add an additional Monitor. I purchased a new 8800GT online and tried to install it onto my system, but I am having a problem after it boots up. My computer boots up but when I try to get into Bios or anything, it just gives me a black screen. My 8800gt fan is spinning loud. I would really like to get this set up, any help would be appreciated Thanks.

Are you trying to SLI them? I thought that the two cards had to be identical or very close.

no SLI, just as an extra GFX Card for a third Monitor

Leave your monitor on the first card to see if Windows will boot. Then check device drivers.

What MOBO are you working with. I just did the same thing with 2 different video cards, to run 3 screens and it works well.

Sometimes the bios needs to be tweeked before you set this up or in my case, my MOBO had a pcb card between the 2 pci slots that needed to be turned around in order to enable dual card usage.
