I have a PocketPC with Windows Media Player 9 and I am trying to transfer my
songs from my computer to the pocketpc.
I don't have available space to copy all the songs, so I bought a SD card.
All the transfer occurs without problem to a folder within the pda memory.
When I copy the songs to my SD card, the song doesn't play anymore. It says
that it can't find the license. I contact the store where I purchased the
songs and they told me I should backup the licenses and restore it on the
new computer. But I can't find a way to restore licenses in this Media
Player for Pocket PC.

Sam, be sure that you use the media player on the PC to copy the protected
media to the PPC. In doing so it will set up the license files for you.
Copying from explorer will copy only the song files, not the license. Also
be sure to play any downloaded protected media on the PC at least once
before copying, otherwise it might not have the license token to copy.
Of course, burning a cd and riping the songs back unprotected will work fine
as well. Just keep them for your own personal use, and be sure to find the
album info before ripping (note album name, artist - song titles will
usually not be an issue)

The issue is that MP9 on the PPC will not transfer licenses to removable
media like an SD card. You need media player 10 on both the PC (which should
be easy) and on the PPC, which is dependent on the device you have. Not all
OEMs are providing this update.
If you can't get MP10 on both or some reason, your only real option is to
write the songs to a CD and re-rip them, eliminating the copy
protection/licensing issue.
