hi everybody. I have a dell 530S (the slim version) and i would like to upgrade my lame integrated card.
I have read through many forums and alot of people say that the ati 4650 can work with the 530s
here are some cards ive been looking at:

will these cards work?

I also heard that ddr3 consumes less power? is this true?

Sorry but with that weak of PSU those cards will not work. I don't think your going to get any modern GPU that will work on 250 Watts.

i looked at some forums and some people do claim to be able to run the 4650

I believe the 250watt PSU in Dell PC's have 18 amps on the 12v rail. The 4650 will run fine on it, though I suggest you don't go any higher then that.

So should i get the ddr3 version or the ddr2?

DDR3 is better, but DDR2 is cheaper (Under $60 as opposed to $70+). Get whichever you want and can afford.

well im willing to spend 60 bucks an the apollo 4650 ddr3 on newegg is 60 buks with rebate

Did not know if it was for games or if you were using it for a HTPC, in which case a HD4550 would have been a better choice.
Your PSU should have no real problems with either GDDR3 or GDDR2 versions of the HD4650.
Before making a decision, check the warranty, the Egg are good within their 30 policy but after that things are very different.

I think he is saying if you are planning to use this in a HTPC then the 4550 would be a better choice. But since you want to play COD4/WaW then you can go with the 4650.
