Hi.

I found this on e-buyer and it looks likea great buy and looks to have only a few problems (motherboard is virtually un-expandable): http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159381/show_product_overview

However i searched around and i think i found better parts to put together for only £60 more than the e-buyer one :

Which One would be the better buy as in more futureproof?

The E-buyer config is thrash! Go DIY and for a pure gamer:

P2X3 720BE
GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P
HD 4890
Corsair/PCPC 750
2 x 2 1066
CM 690
WD 640 Black
SATA DVDRW of choice
Shave of certain areas and nab the most succulent GPU you could afford hehe

I can't find the motherboard model for the ebuyer thing.

As for building or buying....I'm pretty sure most people here will be bias towards building, as am I.

There is really no such thing as future proof. The best thing you can do is not buy a motherboard with a socket that will no longer be used in future CPU, i.e. the Intel 755. The next best thing is to get a Crossfire capable MoBo so it is easier to upgrade your graphical power in the future.

Thanks for the quick replies.

The motherboard i have chosen does support AM3 CPUs and does have crossfire. I was thinking about buying the 4850 then in 6 months or so buy another 1 and put them in crossfire as the games get a bit more advanced.

As for the motherboard in the E-buyer PC, it is a Foxconn Skt AM2+, mATX, A7VMX. Looks pretty pathetic to me .

Well, there's one thing you should know before choosing a MoBo...

PhII 940 only works on AM2+ board, not AM3. PhII 955 or PhII720 will work on both.

Yeah i know. This board is an AM2+ board but has AM3 support.
