Building my first ssd computer next month and just started doing research. Was going to get a crucial 300 when I ran into the sandforce 2000 estimations. 500/sec read and write? That doubles everything out there!!!

If that really is the case, is there a reason to buy any ssd right now and just wait? Has there been any preliminary benchmarks to remotely back up these stats that SF is saying?

Doing some quick searches do not find any benchmarks or real world testing. Just the press release data... Available in 1Q 2011.

I still wouldn't hesitate to buy a SSD today that has a SandForce controller. The speeds @ 250+ mb/s isn't slow and doubling that speed may come with a more than double price tag.
