hey guys,

i have a ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD motherboard and i bought a wireless network card. i need to use an ethernet cable to connect to the internet, so i plugged it directly in but my computer doesnt read it at all. it works on my laptop tho. do i need a network card to use an ethernet cable? i thought it was supposed to just work...

any suggestions?

Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand your setup or what you are trying to do.

First, you have a high-speed modem (DSL, Cable or else) with an ethernet plug right is that right?

Do you have a wired/wireless router?

When you plug this modem in the laptop, it works, but not on the PC?

You bought a wireless network card for what purpose?
