How long till AMD or Nvidia release a new video card?

How long has 6970 and GTX 580 been out? i currently have a gtx 295 and im not yet ready to upgrade to a 580 because i spent 500bucks on it a year ago...I wanna wait till something better then a 580 or 6970...Do you guys know when they'll release a new AMD or Nvidia card?

570 and 580 came out novemeber/december 2010 dont remember exact date but in those months. 6970 came out january and gtx 560 came out week ago? but sometime this month or late january.
so nov-jan. 6990 and 595 (dual gpus) are rumored to come out, but no date.

damn it's only been that long?...so like another 10months or so for them to release a new one

no no no the 590 and 6990 are rumored to release really soon, probably in march-april.

the 6990 is rumored to be 2 full cayman chips on a single PCB but theyre probably underclocked a bit and the GTX 590 is rumored to have 2 full GF110 chips on a single PCB and probably underclocked too.

Q1 2012, the two camps will release gpus w/ the 28nm process parallel to the launch of LGA 2011. Those(high end) will be faster & draw less power than the dual gpus single cards that they're planning to release this march or april. If you can wait next year, then you can buy the high end again & use it for @ least 2-3 years.

yeah i know i read about it...but i really don't want a duel gpu anymore...i just want one powerful card that's just as fast as a GTX 570 in SLI lol...Plus i have a mid tower Lian-li case and i don't know if the new AMD will fit since the 5970 already won't fit unless i take out my hard drive cage...duel gpu's are getting way to big for me lol...

yeah i can wait till next year for sure...i still have this gtx 295 sitting here and im really not ready to upgrade just yet to a gtx 580
