I am currently looking for a new graphics card and I have no idea on what I need. My computer is a Acer Aspire M3100, I got it about 1 year ago. How do I know if a graphics card I buy will work with it? Can anyone help pick a nice card out for me! I am looking to play Huxley when it comes out. :)

I'm not sure what I was looking for but on my Power Supply it reads:

INPUT: 100-127v ~ / 6A; 220-240V ~ / 3.15A: 50-60HZ
OUTPUT: 250W Max

Pretty weak PSU.

I can't recommend anything more powerful than the HD 4550 which uses about 20w of power under load.

I don't know much about the hardware of a PC...just the basics. Could someone recommend me the best card I could get with my current specs? Preferably one that won't make my pc explode! :P

edit: Thanks jaguarskx. Anyway you could link me one from newegg or something? Sorry, I just don't want to get the wrong card.

Get this PSU for ~$50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817339021

then get yourself a:
9800GTX/GTX+ ~ $135
or
4850 ~$130

Or 4770 ~$110

Here you go:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102819

Just remember it is a "value" video card and it has not been benchmarked with games. Don't expect too much from it, but it will definitely be better than the integrated video that you have.

I peg it as an average quality PSU. Good enough for the GPUs BlueScreenDeath mentioned.

BlueScreenDeath's idea is good too, you might want to consider getting a new PSU. Heres a nice one. (Corsair 400CX) - 45.00 After MiR

Nice card edeawillriule listed, but I'm not sure it'll run that great on a 250W PSU.

Thanks for all the help. I have a question though!

Would http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6817339021 work with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] &CMP=OTC-? This being with my computers specs.

Thanks for all the help!

Yeah should work well but you might consider getting a nicer quality PSU.

I wouldn't go with that brand of a PSU myself. Pick up a decent one then hunt for a 4770, one of the best low end cards around.
