Hi, i have an onboard Realtek sound card, and i am trying to get my surround sound system to work. The card has outputs for all the speakers separately, like front, rear, sides, subwoofer/center, but my surround sound system connects with only one cable, and because of that, when i put it in the front speaker port, it plays left and right channels, but i can't play the rear left and right, it just plays the front on the back, if that makes sense. if anyone can shed some light on my problem, it would be much appreciated.

Hmmm, sounds like your ss is not meant for computer output, you need to have at a minimun two connectors [colour coded] one black and one a sort of pale green/blue,at least that is what I have seen on most mobo's that I have owned,is there no switch/button on your ss to activate the ss effect etc..:)
