Thanks for the response, I corrected my CPU from a 3.2GHz to a 3.4GHz socket 775. This is out of my old Dell XPS 400. My wife currently has a 3.2GHz Celeron D with a 533 FSB in her Dell Dimension 8300 and I wanted to take hers up to a 800MHz FSB but I am afraid she won't see the difference unless I get the 3.2GHz or 3.4GHz CPU.
What do you think?

You didn't mention how much RAM it has, or the OS, or what it's mainly used for in terms of programs. A cheap and simple major performance upgrade might be to increase the RAM. Also, a more recent HDD might improve things.

2Gig of Ram, just updated from 333 to 400MHz. That's the problem, the Celeron holds the memory back to 333.... XP Pro... 80Gb ATA-100 HDD. SATA on this machine is only 150...
