I'm building by first computer. I have got the Raidmax Smilodon Computer Case which comes with PSU-500w. I have got motherboard GA- MA790GP-UD4H . While working on the connecting the wires, I come to know that the Raidmax PSU doesn't have 8 PIN connectore, whereas Motherboard has the 8 PIN socket [http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/motherboards/1876_3.html]. I have no experience in hardware at all .... Is my above understanding correct? Do I need to get different PSU?

Older motherboards used 4pin connectors for CPU, while newer ones (dual core & above) require more power so newer motherboards & power supplies have 8pin connectors. This is just like the 20pin main power connector being replaced by the newer 24pin connector. You can opt to change your PSU or purchase a 4pin to 8pin adaptor.
