How do i reninstall windows xp without cd when installing new hard drive

My computer said non-system disk error or no disk. So now im about to install a new hard drive and I don`t have a windows cd or I do naot have a code. My computer came with windows 2000 not xp. Now im stuck and don`t know what to do. Please help me?

You are confusing !
What is on the unit now, XP or 2000 ?
If XP, how did you get it on ?

Try booting to safe mode and see if you have Recovery Console as an option to get into. You probably have to use fixmbr to create boot sector.
