AMD Athlon II x3

I currently have my x3 435 at 3.5 ghz from 2.9 ghz and 1.45 volts from 1.35 volts. My motherboard is an AsRock M3A770DE. The processor idles at ~35C and stays at ~65C at load using OCCT with the stock fan/heat-sink and IC diamond thermal paste . I would like to know if these numbers are safe or not, and any suggestions on a good cpu cooler for around $50 would be helpful.

edit: Starting voltage was 1.425 not 1.35

Why so much voltage? You dont have to raise voltage to overclock, that is a myth. You should be able to get 3.5v on stock voltage. At 1.45v you should be hitting around 3.9ghz.

You only raise voltage if your stuck and want to go higher. Start by seeing how high you can get on stock volts.

Your temps will be much lower with lower voltage.

Easy answer: NO, that 65ºC in load aren't safe. 55ºC or low are safe.

Hyper 212+, or for $53 you can get the Titan Fenrir thats much better that Hyper 212+

Who sells the Titan Fenrir? Couldn't find it at any of the usual vendors. Likely it's a lot more expensive too.

Since your using the stock cooler now, the 212 will be twice as good and under $30.

Any voltage under 1.45 it crashes after about 5-10 minutes of occt, it maybe the heat? I will back it back down untill i get a cooler.

Just as I thought, it's nearly twice as expensive as the 212+. Does it cool twice as well?

I wonder how reliable it is too. I mean none of the big reputable companies like Newegg or Tiger are selling them. YET.

i got a bad overclock cpu...
