Hello
I have a Dell 560 studio system desktop...
Mainboard Dell intelchip P45/43 (as reported by Sandra)
CPU C2Q 8200 @2.333 MHz
Video GF9800 512 MB
Hard disk 300GB

my current RAM is Nanyo DDR2 2GB 800MHz buss (2*1GB) dual channel)

1-I want to upgrade my RAM not sure to DDR2 1066mhz or DDR3 1066mhz
also I don't know whether to go faster than 1066MHZ (like 1333MHz buss) ..is it possible ? (sandra sais I can put DDR2 or DDR3 ? possible ?

2-As long as I use always 32bit XP or Windows 7 32bit....I know I can't get benefit from more than 3 GB......how can I use 3GB in dual channel ? is there 1.5GB *2 configuration ? as I think , the board may have 2 slots for DDR2 and 2 slots for DDR3 ... so I can use 1GB , 512 , 1GB ,512 DDR2 modules....

3-If I change my RAM myself..will this void my desktop warranty ?

thanks alot

Your mobo isn't a Dell mobo, is an Intel mobo.

1- The diference between DDR2 800 and DDR2 1066 isn't significatly, the 1066Mhz is not support for your mobo. And yes you can install DDR3 BUT only DDR3 1066MHz, and this only can run in dual channel.

User guide mobo: http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/prodbrief/P45-express-chipset-prod-brief-319947.pdf

2- Intel call this property "Flex channel", that permit do this, see thelink and look for "Flex mode".

3- Yes, if you change the RAM yourself, the warranty is void.

Cheers!
