Blocked fan, burnout

Forum CPU & Components : CPUs Blocked fan, burnout

I was moving stuff and accidentally moved the CPU. The fan intake got blocked and later I could actually smell burning. Totally screwed up the computer. I had a C and D drive before. It is now C, D, and F. F is now where most of my program files have ended up. C is now showing items that used to be on D. I cannot access my user account, only guest. I have no sound and cannot play and videos. Mozilla was gone.

There are LOTS of documents and photos I want to retrieve. Is it possible? Is it probable?

It should work, but how does screwing up your CPU have to do with your hard drive?

+1. Did you by any chance bump the HDD's?

Sorry if it wasn't clear. I bumped it the fan intake was up against the side of the cabinet so it could not take in any air. I thought it would have shut down on its own when it got too hot but it didn't.
