Nvida says you dont need the best processor to use the best video card.

and I really dont suggest any of the Kumas , they have disabled cores and dont run well.

a 2.8 GHz Processor would be ideal , and then get at least a GTX series and you wont be sorry.

Kumas run fine , but they are not high performance cpu's

Weirdmystery whats your total budget for cpu and video ? And what resolution will you be playing games at ?

Your best answer is probably NEITHER of those combinations , hey but dont worry Im not leading you ... just telling you you are headed in the wrong direction :p

What? Kumas run fine. They're the best AMD dual core out so far, and they're dirt-cheap.

In response to the OP, if you're gaming, get the more powerful video card. The only reason to get a more powerful CPU is if you're playing tons of Source games (L4D, TF2, etc) which are heavily dependent on the CPU, even a 4850 can max out those games at 1680x1050 with high filters.

I seriously suggest away from the Kuma's if your playing games.

Just for the Processor and video card?

no for the whole system.

Oh... well... crap. what are you planning on doing with it?

And whats your budget on the core and Video card?

and here's a much better preforming core, it would allow for future upgrade of... well most anything.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103234

I know you told me not to change anything but it truly is better preforming, even with no L3 cache , unless you plan on useing the internet.

and I'm sorry I cant suggest a better Video card then the GTS 250 right now , because going to a GTX model is expensive.

Reply to Gin Fushicho

I'm going to use it playing some games while surfing internet.

Reply to WeirdMystery

Then the Proccesor I recommended and this GTS250 in particular http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814130469 should be perfect. The card has a gig of memoryso you should be alright even if you want to play Crysis.

You did know it was the 7750 be right?

Yeah I know its the 7750 , but I dont recommend it , if you wanted that you should just go for a triple core.

Getting a Kuma just for the L3 cache and cuz its new isnt a good idea. I've never consiedered a Kuma good idea for any type of gameing. It's good for browsing and simple tasks but thats it. I really do suggest the core I mentioned earlier or a triple core.

Also the one I suggested runs better AND is cheaper.

Gin, WTF are you smoking.

Please disregard the tard, theres nothing at all wrong with the Kuma's, and they outperform Brisbanes across the board.

If your gaming, the GTS250 is better then the 4670. You should look to the new 4770 instead however. As long as you can get it cheaper, it will be better for you. (its nearly the speed of the GTS250, so just make sure its cheaper. Its not slower enough for you to notice.) The 7750 and the GTS250/4770 should make for an ok midrange gaming build.

Check it out yourself, the 7850 Kuma vs. the E5300. Both not overclocked, the E5300 overclocks better, but the 7850 does pretty well with a 790/SB750 or a 780G that has ACC.

@ B-Unit = +1 ;) There are nothing wrong with Kuma's and yes they are better than Brisbanes. Look at the benchmarks. Sheesh lol.

Kumas just arent a gaming processor , he's better off just getting a larger multicore processor or a Windsor if your talking about performance. <.<

The 7850 I will agree is good, THAT Kuma I would not have a problem recommending , but I will NEVER recommend the 7750.

Proof? Windsors and brinsbanes are old news. Kuma might not be perfect, but they have a better IPC and AMDs 45nm process overclocks better then their 65nm. I don't see the point of buying an old 65nm chip if their newer 45nm ones are better.

The Kuma is a 65nm too. <.< *slaps* http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6819103300

And read my last post before responding to anything. <.< *slaps again* If he is going to get any Kuma it better be the 7850.

And Windsors kick ASS. I have a meg of L2 cache on each core. <.< ad its 2.8 GHz I've also had no problem over clocking to 3.2 Ghz and have with a lot of work reached a stable 3.6 GHz.

That depends if the task the rig is to perform is more CPU or GPU intensive so u know where to hit to maximize gain The P2X3 7xx series gets my pick though:

CPU intensive - go IGP and get fast/lots RAM
Options:
A) 790GX/SB750: clock, unlock cores possibly and best IGP perfomance for games
B) GF8XXX : CUDA, hybrid power

GPU intensive - 790GX, possible HD 4770CF or single HD4980

mucho flexibility

For gaming purposes...get the GTX260 or better...or Radeon 4770 in SLI or Crossfire ^_^ The new Core i7's are great, even the Core 2 Quads but they don't even get much use in appications...and gaming FPS is minimal even with a good OC. But they do render well and encode videos fast....

Core 2 Duo's rock it right now ^_^

Glad soemone agrees with me on Dual core products.

Reply to Gin Fushicho

Yeah but for a budget PC, 7750's all the way, especially since it's pretty hard to get a CPU bottleneck now.

Are the core 2 duos better then the x2 7850?

Reply to WeirdMystery

If your talking Intel and dual core I'd say the Wolfdales , though they are quite expensive, but Highly overclockable.
