Hello I have the motherboard in the title that I replaced my old board with (bought it used) for some reason I cannot get this board to recongize my sata drives. At first I thought my old sata drive got fried along with my motherboard I replaced, but today I just bought a 1TB sata drive, and it did not see it either. I have the sata enabled in the bios, onboard promise controller is enabled in bios, I tried setting it to raid, and ide but no dice.

My specs are AMD athlon 64 3400, K8N se deluxe [asus], CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel, 450w psu, radeon x1950 gpu. I am running windows vista 32 bit home basic.

Does your Windows XP instalation disk have SP2 included? An XP installation disk without SP2 requires the SATA drivers to be loaded at the F6 prompt.

EDIT: Sorry, I see Vista 32 Home at the last part of your post.

thanks it's ok, I just bought an eide drive and installed vista on it and so I am back up and running.
