PLEASE HELP!

I recently purchesed a dell (windows vista). i am trying to download itunes and i keep getting an error stating, "could not access network location %APPDATA%\"What does this mean and how do i fix it so i can get itunes?

reinstall the OS, it means that the appdata folder is corrupted.

I'm not a Vista person but surely it can be fixed without a reinstall, maybe the %APPDATA% environment variable has somehow been removed or it's a permissions thing.
