I just backed up a few of my old VHS tapes onto my computer. Obviously the quality is nowhere near what I'm used to anymore. Is there any software available that would allow me to clean up these old videos so they don't look so bad on my big screen?

You can use a free program called VirtualDub. They have a forum where you can go for help. I use it to convert DVD videos to DivX / XviD files. It cannot use the X.264 codec since it has not been programmed to recognize it; a waste for VHS tapes anyway.

Thanks, I tried it out, but it won't recognize wmv or mpeg2 files. Is there anything else? I mainly want to clean up the pixeled look that my TV tuner has.
