Hello Everyone!

My buddy has this laptop, a Acer Extensa 5630. Its just barely out of warranty by a few days. When he boots it up there is just a black screen and freezes. Booting into safe mode works but the laptop and touchpad get locked up. What can be wrong?

Acer Extensa 5630
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
T3200 2.0GHZ Dual Core CPU
250GB HDD
2GB DDR2

Thanks for the help! Since this is a business laptop its very urgent,does anyone have any suggestions?

Clean the dust out. It may be overheating.

Does the boot disk just let you find the hard drive files?

Password protected files may require a bit more work :)

Thanks, do you think its a hardware issue or a Vista issue or will this disk determine that?

The utilities on the disk, if the disk boots, may help determine the problem.

This is just something to try at this point. If the disk won't boot, that's an answer in itself.
