Well the base setup is very good for the above tasks you had mentioned...
But there are a few things that I feel you can look into...
1. RAM - Have read that when you populate all the 6 slots on the X58 mobo, the speed is automatically lowered...So going with 1333MHz over a 1600MHz RAM wont make any difference...But the difference is just about $25 so its upto you...
But another alternative to get the performance of SSDs along with high capacity would be using RAID...
So if you are comfortable with it, it would save you cash as well as increase capacity...
hmm....... thats odd of tiger direct not to offer an OEM version of that CPU. you always save some money on them because there is no fan which would have been good for the OP in this case because he is getting an aftermarket fan
Bah I had typed a response last night that must have been lost.
Still, you got some good advice. The OCZ Vertex series is indeed the way to go in SSDs. The only better SSDs are Intel and cost quite a bit more.
The decrease in actual performance with a DDR3 frequency of 1333 is minimal to nothing. The extra RAM is what you need, not the minor frequency bump that is ONLY important to overclockers.
