I'm still using a pretty old system (HP d530, P4 2.8, 1GB RAM) and not planning to spend any money for it.

I can merely choose between these 2 cards, which I already own but I'm not sure which one I should pick.

Would it still make sense to overclock them and even if, then till which extent?

Download and run this:- http://www.futuremark.com/download/3dmark03/on both cards, highest score wins.

Wouldn't 3D-Mark 06 be better?

I have doubts that either of those cards could run 3D'06 well enough to to be able to draw a meaningful conclusion from the results.
