It's best to get a LARGE heatsink + 120mm fan before overclocking (at least $30).

Your CPU overclocks at most 20%.

You ALSO must be careful about the RAM. You need to drop the RAM speed down an amount that when you overclock the CPU the RAM is back to where it was before.

Huh?
When you overclock the CPU you're overclocking the CPU and the RAM at the same time. You can control the RAM separately as well. If you overclock without first dropping the RAM speed it will also be overclocked and can also crash your computer.

I recommend starting with a 10% overclock and run that for several days.

If it's for games, you should run the Task Manager and see if your games hit 100% during game play. If not you don't need to overclock (depends on your graphics card). Task Manager-> CTRL-ALT-DEL
