is my cheap psu of 575 watt 25 amps on 12v enough for q9550, or do i need to get another one? my budget is tight ( $300 ) for mobo and cpu . I'm gonna get the cpu for $170

i currently have this setup:

p4 3.4 ghz 650 (85watt)
4 gb of ram ddr2 800 mhz(not upgrading)
some bad mobo atx
9600 gt ( not upgrading)
2 dvd drives
2 hdd
no fans on my case

planing to get the gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3l and q9550 and maybe some cpu cooler

the q9550 only requires 10 watt more than the p4

I'm willing to take out 1 dvd drive and 1 hdd since they are old ide.

will my psu handle these???

thanx for help!!

First of all, a 575 watt PSU that only has 25 amps on the 12 volt output is terrible. A 550 watt PSU should be able to put out at least 40 amps at 12 volts.

Having said that, you should not have any trouble powering your system with your 575 watt PSU.
