That article discusses GPU emulation of the CPU using openCL. I do not see anything like the Intel compiler used in the vast majority of audio/video editing/encoding applications. Intel will continue A/V dominance until a better universal compiler is initiated, or at least a dually compiled program that will choose the proper version based on CPU used. At least the gap is narrowed with the last generation of AMD CPUs. I'm beginning to wonder if programmers are moving away from the intel compiler, or if AMD has managed to make there CPUs more "compatible" with the intel compiler.

Looks like fusion may start to be confusion, especially if you dont have any current HW out, and you planned HW has been delayed
