How to remove highlight from desktop icons

I have got an acer aspire 5610. Recently, I tried to download facebook icon to my desktop background as a short-cut but I failed in my attempt and now all my desktop icons got highlighted. I would like help to remove the highlights to the icons please. My email is juahchea@gmail.com

Right click "My Computer" > Properties > "Advance" tab > "Settings" button in the "Performance" section > Scroll to the bottom and check "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop".

PS: Don't d/l anything from FB !
