Ok, so I had my Phenom X3 720 BE in an ASRock A790GXH/128M and I started getting random lockups.. no BSOD, no errors logged, just hard freeze. I took off all overclocking and ACC, no change.. I swapped my ATI 4870 for my old 8800GTS and no change. I swapped out the memory, same thing. I took my old A770M-A out of the closet and dusted it off. This ECS board ran SOLID with an overclocked 5000+ BE for over a year. As I was putting my X3 into the ECS I was remembering the reason I upgraded my MB right after I got the X3.

When the X3 is installed in the ECS it works PERFECT (no 4th core of course because of the chipset), I can overclock it more than on the ASRock and run Prime95 for hours with no errors. It runs absolutely solid.... Until I shut it down. Once I shut it down it will not boot again until I clear the CMOS. I've tried this with no overclocking, I've tried this with undervolting, I tried it with every possible combination of things. With the old 5000+, I don't have this issue, it shuts down and starts up perfect every time. I've upgraded the firmware to the lastest version. Once I reset the CMOS it runs like a champ until I shut it down, I can reboot all I want and it comes back, just not from a power off. Oh, I also tried multiple power supplies. With the CPU running 3 cores it should not be breaking the 95w CPU rule on the board, and the undervolt didn't help. Also, there is no difference weather I'm using W7 or XP since it won't even get to POST when it happens. Any clues?
