CASE: NZXT TEMPEST
PSU: CORSAIR HX-1000
CPU: INTEL Q6600 GO 2.4ghz
GPU: EVGA GTX 285 x2 SLI (Overclocked to the gtx 285 ssc edition)
MB: EVGA 750i SLI FTW
RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 8gb 800mhz
HS: MASSCOOL 8WA741
HDD: SEAGATE 500gb
OS: Windows VISTA ULTIMATE x64

CPU Temps: 35 idle / 45 load
GPU Temps: 40 idle / 50 load

Are these 2 EVGA GTX 285's in SLI ENOUGH TO RUN ALL THE NEWEST GAMES ON TOP SETTINGS?

THE ONLY THING I DONT UNDER STAND IS THE WHOLE BENCHMARKING THING AND HOW TO FIND OUT FPS

Couple of questions:

1) why are you choosing the q6600? The Core 2 series are reaching the end of their lifetimes... it's not too hard to build a budget build around the i7 now.

2) what resolution will your games be running at? the GTX 285 in sli will not play crysis at top settings at 2560 * 1600, but it'll eat through everything else at 1920 * 1200.

3) is this some computer customized from a site? How'd you get those CPU/GPU temps?

4) Benchmarking is done by running a game at some setting and measuring the FPS, using programs like FRAPS. You can't do it unless you actually buy the computer.. but people have done benchmarks already of the 285 in SLI. You/someone else should be able to find it.

the q6600 was free to me
1600x900 nothing crazy & at those resolutions it plays maxed out
no and these are the temps my bios,cpu-z,coretemp,real temp, and hw monitor are giving me.I thought it was weird that under load my temp for the cpu only jumped 10 degrees though. prime95 will rarely push it to 51 after 2 days with the max heat setting.I could understand 45 load if the idle was 20 or below
FRAPS OK thanks
