hello everyone,

Ive had my computer for about 5 years now and i think its time for a gfx card upgrade

I currently have a dell dimension 8400

processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz

3 gigs ram

radeon x300 128mb :(

350w (output) power supply

I am looking to upgrade the gfx card and only the gfx card for around $100, and would also like to stay in the ATI family

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

It's not time for a gfx card upgrade it's time for a new computer.
Seriously at this point in time upgrading any components in a pc that old is a complete waste.

1. Do you have a PCI-e slot?

2. You can use a 4650 or 4670, which doesn't use a lot of power. If your PSU wasn't so old, I would recommend something better.

3. Yeh, as eda said, you prolly should get a new PC

i dont want or need a super machine; the only reason why i am considering the upgrade is because i am a HUGE diablo fan and would like to play diablo 3 on med/high settings.

so i would rather pay $100 - $150 on this machine than blow $700+ on a new rig that i wouldnt even use to it's full capabilities

ATI 4650 ~ $60
ATI 4670 ~ $75
or get a used 3870 on ebay for $50ish - it performs slightly better than the 4670

ok thanks bluescreen; i am assuming i can only handle the ati 4670 256mb and NOT the 512???

256 or 512 it doesn't really matter. You don't need 512mb to play Diablo, so get whatever is cheaper.
