New HDD not detected in bios

Hello,

I have a new hard drive, a Samsung HD204UI 2tb and it's not deteced in the bios. I have an Asus P5B Deluxe mb. Sata controller set to AHCI. I double checked the cables.

Any idea?

Set it to IDE. Try some other SATA port.

You do have the power lead connected? there was one here the other day that had neglected to connect the power cable.
Failing that and the post by mosox, try a different sata cable, some that are supplied can be faulty. If you don't have spare, disconnect one from your other drive to check.
