So I've been looking into building my first computer as mine is getting older, and I have put together a setup. I just want to know what people think, if they see any problems and if anyone knows of any compatibility issues I would encounter with this setup. This is built as a gaming PC with the possibility for later expansion. Any suggestions are welcome!

I think that is way too much to spend on CAS 9 DDR3.

If you are going to spend that much, at least get CAS 7:

Or save a bunch and get:

Everything else seems fine.

I have just changed my proposed case to the CM Centurion 590 in order to give me a little extra room inside, with the similar design and slight bit of extra room I figured this would be a good idea. Anyone had any problems with this case?

Also for your suggestion of the CAS7 ram would there be any issues if I tried to overclock that ram? I have gotten the feelign that the corsair dominator's were the ones more suited for this job.

Would this RAM be better? (they are more expensive however)

^no because it's CL 8 which isn't as good.

I realise that it is CL 8 however if not using the dominator ram is going to limit my ability to overclock then it might be better. I honestly do not have alot of knowlege on how the different abilities of ram work, so is it definite that I should take the CL 7 corsair non-dominator ram over the CL 8 dominator ram, when I have overclocking in mind?

I doubt it will make much difference to overclocking the ram because the chips are worse or the same in the first place, you might get an extra 10mhz or something small but nohing that will have a major effect.

The Dominator heatsinks are more for marketing than functionality, especially for that ram. i7 ram has to run at a lower voltage than others, less than 1.65v which means a lot less heat is generated by them. Back when it was developed for DDR2 and you were running at 2.2v after an OC then it was useful, but now not so much. Get the OCZ kits, they are better buys. Corsair makes good ram, but they charge way too much for it.

The 590 is a good case, no worries there. $10 more gets you the 690 though, which is even better, up to you if its worth it. I personally own that case and love it. I don't really think that the 590 is worth the price difference over the Antec 300 though, I would either get the 300 or 690

Well here is my updated list. I love the CM 690, even more room same great cost and look! Also from all the feedback on the RAM i have decided to go with the OCZ, great price and best specs I'm going to get from a quality company.

Thanks for all the feedback, unless someone else has anything to add it looks like this is proably going to be my final setup... and with shipping and tax included this still costs just less than $1500!!
