After collecting all the files to be transferred my computer shut down. How can I continue on with the transfer after restarting my computer?

Sorry, but you will have to be more specific about transferring, what you were using to xfer & where you were xfering to ?

If you mean to continue copying where you left off, it's tricky. You either need to compare the files already there to what is on the original location, or just start the copy over. You can't resume it at the point where it left off. Windows 7 is much better than XP in this regard, it will ask you to skip files it sees already. XP will prompt you for each one it finds unless you tell it to copy all over.
