Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

My question: What cooler do you have?

I can't understand somethings in your rig, even that here are some advices.

1- Disable Cool'n'Quite
2- Disable C1E
3- Change the CPU voltage from "Auto" to something around 1.3V and test the rig for stability. You can use y-cruncher, prime95, LinX or OCCT for do that. Let me know that temps that you get, with HWMonitor you can know that too.

Ok now I don't have a 965 but I have a 955 and I successfully OC it to 3.7 ghz with a 1.375 Vcore. I only changed the CPU multiplier and the Vcore.
If that helps.
But could you tell us what your CPU cooler is that would be helpful.
And also how high do you want to OverClock ?

wow outta all things i forget to mention my cooling........

I have water cooling Astek 510LC 120MM

my case has the 2 fans it came with and i added 3 more.
my case is CoolMaster Elite 430

I have notice my pc running around 50c when its idle..... I removed some widgets from my desktop and was able to get it under 37.... its been a while since i seen it so cool tho.

A friend told me i should be able to run it at 4.0 w/o any problems so thats what im shooting for

my cpu voltage is at 1.4 factory settings... why would i wanna go lower to 1.3?
i dont see Cool'n'Quite or C1E
