Hi All

Here is the problem - I have HD4850x2 and with CrossFire off it hits about 16 000 points in 3DMark 2006, with CrossFire ON the poins are 20 000 or so (the numbers may not be correct I work on memory about them). the difference is about 4000 points (I remember that for sure). So I have two fully featured video cards but I can't get double score! It's like the one of them is used at very low percentage!!! I feel a bit like a baby with stolen candy... Sould I buy HD4870 or 90 single core instaed?

@ Ivan Ivanov: mo/bo, M/B and mb in this context means 'motherboard'
Read the FAQ on |Crossfire/SLI at the top of the front page.
Do not use 3D Mark '06; It hates ATI hardware and Crossfire in particular.
Use proper games for testing and compare the results with benchmarks on review sites (like here), or switch CF on/off on your system to see the results.
Here is a review of a 4850X2, read how they tested before comparing you results to theirs:

Oh yes now I remember that "mo bo". "MB" is clear to me bot I forgot that mo/bo is used too :D
Well It's ASUS Rampage II Extreme.
I supposed that it's not supposed to get twise as much, well loading two cards to do single job isn't easy after all. And I didn't know that 3dMark hates ATI (good adise coozie7 :) )
Well I'll do as you advised me.

Well, if your performance is lacking you can try OC'ing your CPU a bit

4870X2 > 4890
4870X2 < 4890 CF
4870X2 in CF > 4890 CF

The performance difference in the 4870X2 and the 4890 is very slight, so i recommend the 4890, cheaper, and better performance.

Anyway some games are just not well designed. As C&C Generals. It almost stops running when I play against 8 A.I. when they produce too many units. That's because the game is single threded ;). Cannot be fixed (at least I have no idea how)
My PC is
Core i7 920
2x2GB 1333MHz
HD4850x2
2X160GB HDD RAID

and C&C Generals is kind of old game it should have fly on this machine. I don't thing the prblem is in the game not in my PC :)

how do you thing?
