Hey there! I'm looking to build a new computer, I'm kind of new to this whole thing but here's what I know for certain... I want a computer that's AMAZING for gaming, I currently play CoD5/CoD4/WoW and a few other PC games. I want something that will handle these and future games flawlessly. I plan on getting a 3.16ghz intel e8500 for a processor (I'm a big fan of this), also I'd like to SLi or crossfire two vid cards. Other things, I need around 1TB of HD space (for vids/music and such) and atleast 4gb of ram, pref ddr3.
I'm basically asking for someone to newegg it up and throw up their opinions of a good comp. I've made some myself but I'd like others opinions.
And yes, I need all components except keyboard, mouse, monitor...(the usual)
Once again, budget is around $1200-$1500, I'll settle for less.

You can buy Vista home premium 64 bit for $100 , or you can download the Release candidate of Windows7 [ new] for nothing and use it free for a year and then buy it . I wouldnt buy vista since its being phased out soon .
Monitor
either
SAMSUNG 2233SW High Glossy Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD $180
or
SAMSUNG ToC T240HD Rose-Black 24" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LCD $330
Even with the 24 inch monitor and buying vista the total is
$1565
The case might not be everyones taste but the rest of the hardware is just what you need , and there are cheaper 24 inch monitors like the 2433
This build includes two factory over clocked gtx 260's running in SLI. Make sure you flash to the latest bios with this board, and then afterwards update your drivers for it.

Does anyone see any issues/oversights with Outlander's build? (I have a similar budget and goal -- I'm thinking of a build along these lines and want to make sure there are no computability issues or anything else I should be aware of)

I dont like the case that much . It was the choice of the OP in the other thread , and he'd already bought it .
Swap it out for antec , coolermaster , silverstone
