On a cheap budget system I like this dual core CPU and Motherboard. It's not quite as powerful as the E8400 but it is a lot cheaper.
A fast 3.0 Ghz dual core CPU and a quality new motherboard with nice features at a very low price. It will only be available as newegg only offers these combo deals for a short amount of time (usually about 2 weeks at best so as this combo has been offered for about a week the sale will be over pretty soon). The motherboard here uses DDR2 RAM by the way. This deal is a steal really ($140 for the CPU and Motherboard).

Most atx cases will take micro atx boards.Just look around for other combo deals on CPU's and Motherboards at newegg but that one is hard to beat.In fact I am going to order that combo for myself perhaps by tomorrow.
