I was over at newegg.com looking at Lian Li pc cases. There are two new cases made of steel instead of aluminum:

LIAN LI Lancool PC-K62:

LIAN LI Lancool PC-K58:

The PC-K62 has a side window and an all black interior that gamers might like. The PC-K58 is a standard version of the same case - no window and no black interior. Otherwise they seem to be identical. I like the PC-K58 - classic black. I'm thinking about getting it. However, I thought Lian Li was known for high quality aluminum cases. Are the steel cases the result of the economic down-turn? Does anyone have one? How does the case compare with the aluminum cases?

EDIT - I just did a quick search - looks like the pc cases are part of a LanCool Dragonlord series of four cases. Three of the four cases come with or without side windows. I guess I have not kept up with the latest developments.

They have a greater choice of Lian Li Cases.

moonblood - performance-pcs.com is one of the online vendors that I buy from. I've had them bookmarked for quite a few years. They're good for specialty items.

I just read a couple reviews and looked at a couple of video clips of the Lian Li/LanCool Dragon Lord series of cases. The PC-K62 is their top of the line model. Personally I like the PC-K60 without the side window. I'll have to see of it's available in the USA.

Nice to see you still around Johnny.
I had been looking at the K58, but got an email from Newegg the other day and ended up grabbing a Lian Li PCV2000 clone, the ABS Blackpearl , at less than $100 shipped I couldn't pass up the deal.

DellUser1 - Thanks! Good to be back but I'm off to a slow start. I'll have to go through a ton of new reviews and articles to get back up to speed. It took me a while to figure out LanCool was a subsidiary of Lian Li.

Nice price on the Black Pearl. Newegg has it for $159.00 right now. I have a buyer for my CoolerMaster 932 HAF that I modded. I'm going to do a complete new build. Figured out a way to have a pc desk next to the home theater equipment.

Same price they had Tuesday, only i got $70 off with a coupon code from the email and free shipping.
I picked it up for my brother-in-law because he liked the Lian Li v2000 that i got last week, almost wish I had waited the extra week.
There's a Tagan label on the box, but if this thing isn't a rebranded Lian Li there was some sort of copyright infrigement going on.
