So I have a P4 at 2.45GHz, I want to get the ASUS 384MB 9600GSO. Will the CPU bottleneck it?

I'm interested in games like ~ Test Drive Unlimited, CoD4, CS:S, GRiD, DiRT.

How will these games play at 1280x1024?

Yeah, it will probably be bottlenecked expecially at your resolution.
At lower resolutions, more demand is put on the CPU to quickly feed data to the GPU.
If you can, try to get some more speed out of the CPU.

Not really as bad as it sounds, though.
It just means you will be able to turn up more eye candy with out a performance hit :D

The P4 is already overclocked from 2GHz :D, board doesn't allow for custom voltage settings.

I might be getting a 2.4GHz P4 and overclocking it to 2.6GHz+ depending on how it does with stock voltage. Will this help with those games at those resolutions?

The 2.4GHz P4 would be free. ;)

Anyways I barely game but DiRT, GRiD, CoD4...etc are pretty interesting.

But will my system even be able to play the CoD Modern Warefare 2 Game?

Ah hell for free then yea might as well. :D As far as that game is concerned I would not know. I am not familiar with it.

A free P4 with a backup if you fry it?
Sounds like you should see if there are any BSEL voltage mods that can be done and overclock the hell out of it :D

Yeah, you should be able to play those games regardless.
You might have to lower the quality a bit but it can be done.
