Is it absolutely necessary to have a cpu fan for an x4 955 if I'm going to overclock it? From looking around thermal paste is only going to set me back $2 so I'll get that no doubt. But I'm not sure whether I really need to spend an extra 20 or so to get a better cooler. Please enlighten me on this thanks.

From what I have been told the 955 has a max temp rating of 62c which isnt very high, so I think first you need to see what your temps are at max load <somthing i am going thru now> then you can decide from there if you have the temp headroom to OC without upgrading cooling
