CPU fan for x4 955

Is it absolutely necessary to have a cpu fan for an x4 955 if I'm going to overclock it? From looking around thermal paste is only going to set me back $2 so I'll get that no doubt. But I'm not sure whether I really need to spend an extra 20 or so to get a better cooler. Please enlighten me on this thanks.

From what I have been told the 955 has a max temp rating of 62c which isnt very high, so I think first you need to see what your temps are at max load <somthing i am going thru now> then you can decide from there if you have the temp headroom to OC without upgrading cooling

I have the 92mm cheopo Rosewill and I can run 4ghz all day on 1.42volts stable. It was about $17 and I've used it for the last 4months comfortably.

I usually leave it running at 3600mhz core, 2600mhz NB with 1.35vcore and 1.2v NB. It'll stay around 45 degrees idle and 55 load with Cool and Quiet turned off in a 75 degree+ room.
