APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: tomorrow -- the closer the better

BUDGET RANGE: US$1200-1600

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, Software Development (Oracle, Application Server, and etc.), Video Editting

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: speakers

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com

OVERCLOCKING: Yes

SLI or CROSSFIRE: Maybe in Future

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080 or 1920x1200

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: plan to install Windows 7

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two, which has the same price as Nine Hundred and seems pretty nice.

PSU: CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready

CPU: I plan to get Intel i7 920 from Micro Center for $230.

CPU Cooler: Xigmatek Dark Knight

Mobo: ASUS P6TDeluxeV2

HDD: WD Black Caviar 1TB

GPU: BFG Tech BFGEGTX260896OCE GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

Memory: Gold XTC 6GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) Triple Channel DIMM Memory Kit (Three 2GB Memory Modules)

Monitor: Samsung 2343WBX 23" LCD Monitor

DVD Drive: Samsung Black 22X

I need advice for a few things.

1. Is there any compatible issue?

2. Does the midtower have enough room, especially if I get another GPU in future?

3. Does the PSU have enough power (again, if I install another GTX260 in future?

4. It is already very close the upper boundary of my budget. Is there anything that might have the similar performance yet cost less?

5. What would be the noise level? I hope that it can run quietly.

I would also appreciate any other suggestions/comment.

2. More than enough room for your parts, a 2nd video card and other future upgrades too.
3. Yes
4. Case and MB offer some wiggle room to save some money.
5. Will be a quiet system when not gaming - and moderately quiet when cranked up for gaming.

ASUS P6T $250 or GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD4P $240 a/r are good motherboard options.
Other gaming case options Antec 300 CM Centurion 590 CM RC-690 Antec 900

I think most would suggest changing out the GTX 260/192 for a GTX 260/216 for $10 more, with free shipping and 2 free games. You'd do your own GPU overclocking and gain a nice bump in performance.

The Samsung 2343WBX is a 2048 x 1152 res monitor. Any reason to choose that over the more common 1920x1080 monitors? Samsung 2343WBX is $220 and free shipping @ NewEgg and $210 @ Buy.com with free shipping.

how about dual 4770's? they will out perform the GTX 260 by quite a bit for only $20 more.

WR2 - Thanks a lot for your feedbacks and suggestions.

For GPU, I found at Micro Center an overclocked version of BCG GTX260/216 (pre overclocked) almost at the same price.

For case, Antec 900 is $30 cheaper, but Netegg charged almost $20 for standard shipping, so it diminished the price difference as I could get a 902 from Micro Center at $130.

As for Motherboard, I need to do a little bit more research to see if I really need the ASUS P6T Deluxe 2 or the regular ASUS P6T is fine.

For monitor, I don't really have any specific reason to choose 2048 x 1152 over the more common 1920 x 1080? I just checked Buy.com and see the price is $236 instead of $210. Did it just change its price or did I miss something?

Helloworld_98 - Thanks for your reply. I did some research but I am not sure if dual 4770 is better than GTX 260 or not. Do you know if any review or comparison has been done to compare these two options?

Actually it seems that many claim that dual 4770 out performs even GTX 280, so this might be a good real option. Thanks Helloworld_98.
