I have a pair of headphones that use USB to power them and I get alot of noise from the USB port, I had the same headphones last year but they used a DC adapter to power them and the new style now uses USB (my old pair broke)

Would a powered USB hub work to power the headset and see if that helps, or is there some sort of USB device I can get that is separate from my PC to power them.

Thanks for any help,
Grifftech

A powered hub SHOULD work fine, unless is has some sort of logic that disables power to the downstream ports if there's no upstream connection. That seems unlikely to me...

I agree... a cheap Hub is the way to go here.

For the purposes of powering a headset I'd just look for the cheapest USB hub you can find...

Just to clarify, what I meant to say was the cheapest powered hub you can find. In other words, it needs to come with a power cord that plugs into the wall.
