What do i need for wireless internet connection

have two desktops and i want to move one to another room i got a wireless router and hooked it up but i cant get it to configure the thing when i get to the point of pulling the network cable well thats all she wrote please help all i want to do is more the one desktop to another room .

Has the computer in question got a wireless adapter ? Is a driver for it loaded ?

If so I would start by linking computer to router by ethernet cable and accessing the router's setup screens (see literature which came with the router or download the manual).

Check that wireless is enabled in the router -- and wireless security temporarily turned off until you get a reliable wireless connection.
