I will be building a new PC in July and, due to not having any building experience, I wanted to start to get a feel for what I can get with my budget ($600) and what/where I should be buying. During the actual construction I will have the help of a friend who has built systems before, if that is important. I will be using this PC for moderate gaming (WoW on highest possible settings in-budget, Dawn of War II, would like to be able to play new games for the next year or two on at least medium settings if possible), web browsing, and schoolwork in the form of writing/editing documents. BUDGET RANGE: $600 absolute maximum

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: GAMING, internet, writing/editing documents, email, watching movies

Ok, that monitor looks good. If I downgraded the case to one that included a 350 watt PSU (see link below) would I run into any problems with the other items you linked? And, I would be able to swap out that PSU for a brand-name if I choose to upgrade, correct? I also don't need nearly that big a hard drive at the moment and could always add another hard drive later if necessary (that case would allow me to, yes? I think that's what it means when it says it has 4 3.5" internal drive bays.). I would use a 160GB hard drive to start with (again, see below), and I don't think this would cause any issues. Would I really be gimping myself by going with that PSU/case downgrade? The hard drive shouldn't be a problem as I should have the funds to upgrade that within a year and I don't see myself hitting the limit in that time, seeing as I don't intend to do any video/photo editing, but I am a bit worried about the case/PSU since it looks like what I want but its very cheap. Overall, this will cut $130 off my costs, letting me buy the monitor and stay in budget. Sorry for the likely confusing post, and thanks very much for your help.

Edit: I am ignoring the rebates with regards to budget since I cannot go over and then make up the difference, but will be able to credit the rebates towards upgrades.
