Phenom II's

I've been planning on building a gaming PC around a Phenom II X3 720, and it's almost buying time. Now I'm wondering, would it be worth it to go for an X4 955 for about $80 more? Would I see a noticeable increase in performance in games?

Probably not unless the game was a quad core optimized one of which there are a few titles out so far probably around a dozen.That X3 720 BE was a good price vs performance choice that you made.

Hey, thanks. The more I read about the X3 720 BE the more it seems like the CPU that's right for me. I just want to be sure because this is my first build.

You might want to consider the Phenom II X2 545.
