i was interested in overclocking my i7-870 and just wanted to know what a safe speed to overclock to would be, or what speed others have acheived

i have a gigabyte ud3 p55 motherboard and my case is a coolermaster HAF-X
i am looking into either getting a corsair hydro liquid cooler or a coolermaster v8 cooler to use for the cpu. thanks for any help

Can't answer your oc'ing question exactly.
I'm sure plenty of people have 870's clocked to 4Ghz.
A V8 and Corsair H series coolers aren't exactly cost effective means of cooling.
The best CM air coolers are the 212+ and V6GT performance wise.
Air coolers from Noctua,Thermalright, and Prolimatech are the best and will outperform Corsair Hydro coolers.
