I was wondering if the forum would be kind enough to let me know if they see any problems with the following build:

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: average gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, speakers, OS

PARTS PREFERENCES: this is an AMD build with DDR3

OVERCLOCKING: Yes (I would like to OC the CPU and GPU)

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1680x1050 (not entirely set on a monitor yet)

1. If someone would recommend an aftermarket cooler for the AMD Phenom II X4 955 I would appreciate it.
2. I'm assuming I do NOT have to buy 6GB or RAM for AMD? I think that's an Intel requirement (only getting 6GB due to good MIR)...
3. I know my GPU is a little weak compared to the rest of the system...I do not require such a beefy card and I will probably OC this GPU a bit.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hmm i'd rate an Antec 300 > CM 5 for budget casings tbh but if you can hit a CM 690 :p
Xigmatek Dark Knight for after market HSF?
Correct dual channel so 2 x 2 DDR3
Consider hitting a 500GB HDD?
Corsair/PC PowernCooling/OCZ/BFG for PSU?
Since they are so close in perfomance i shall pick the HD4770 actually and it should clock better than the 4850 i think :bounce:
If u really want to cut costs hit a P2X3 720BE for a gaming rig ^^

agreed +1 and also drop the price of mobo and get a better gfx. AM2+ socket can take phenom 2s note XD they perform as well as ddr3.

Oh well no SLI/CF and since 1650 x 1050 is preferred resolution here is the whole deal if on AM3/DDR3
$907.47 including ship less MIR
